Coffee Grounds Turned Into Soap Through Women’s Labor

Coffee Grounds Turned Into Soap Through Women’s Labor

With the Efforts of Women Producers from Mardin: Used Coffee Grounds Turned into Soap

Espressolab, known for offering coffee lovers a high-quality experience with carefully selected specialty coffee beans from farms around the world, also stands out for its support of social responsibility projects. As part of this commitment, the brand contributed to a project focused on environmental sustainability and the economic empowerment of women.

In the Natural Soap Workshop of Leap Natural—a social enterprise brand founded by the RET Foundation in Mardin—30 women participants produce handmade soaps using natural raw materials. By supporting the production carried out in this workshop, Espressolab helps strengthen women socio-economically while also promoting recycling practices.  Used coffee grounds and coffee sacks accumulated in stores are reshaped by the hands of women producers in Mardin, transforming into soap.

Now Available on Espressolab Shelves

These special soaps made from coffee grounds were first launched at the Tünel and Taşkışla stores on March 8, International Women’s Day, under the slogan #KadınÜrettikçe (“As Women Produce”). They are expected to reach consumers soon in Türkiye, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Morocco.
